The Umba event

The Umba event

Relive the magic of our limited edition launch on a barge next to the majestic Eiffel Tower. Guests descended the steps of the Pont Alexandre III, transformed by our Umba campaign. Once on board, a staircase draped with veils led them to our first pop-up event, dedicated to an exceptional gemstone: the Umba sapphire.

A rainbow of fifty sapphires, protected by a glass case, was suspended in a setting of white sand and ebony wood. For this pop-up, Gemmyo envisioned a sunny scenography reminiscent of the origins of this incandescent gem.

At sunset, personalities and friends of the Maison arrived to admire the sapphires. The evening began with a speech by the founder, Pauline Laigneau, and Alexis Coin, reflecting on the sourcing challenge to find the most extraordinary Umba sapphires.

The next day, our pop-up event opened its doors to the public, revealing this rare gemstone usually reserved for Haute Joaillerie. Some lucky attendees had reserved our highly limited gouache workshop. This introduction to jewelry drawing, guided by the expert gouache artist Capucine Huguet, was very well received. It was a real discovery for many, who were delighted with this immersive creative experience.

A Tanzanian treasure

Its name originates from the river where it was discovered, in the heart of the Tsavo Valley in Tanzania. This precious gem reveals a profusion of hues.

Gemmyo has selected seven captivating tones. The Umba sapphire is available in three shapes and can be set in the Gemmyo jewel of your choice.
